Lake Tikitapu (Blue Lake)

General Information

Lake Tikitapu is a round and shallow lake, also referred to as the Blue Lake. There are no surface flows from the lake, however subsurface flow drains towards Lake Tarawera.

Due to the high quality of the lake, the main issue concerning the area is to maintain and enhance the natural state of the lake and its catchment (EBOP, 2000).
